A modest showing of 5 players for this world cup special at Casino Huntingdon.
No buy-ins were permitted for this to try and get the game over in time for the England match.
To the action..In an effort to stop himself pressing the all-in detonator to often String John wrote "fold" on his hand to remind himself not to go too crazy too early, but he was unable to contain himself after rivering a Jack high Flush. After much raising, and re-raising, he shipped the lot into Nigel who had the full house, and it was a night of watching the world cup for the String.
Next to get busted was me, when I called the Finches all-in bet with pocket 3's pre flop and it finished 2nd to the K-5 of Mr F.
Finch was next to get busted, after gradually squandering a substantial chip lead, I think it was Gav that ultimately bust him, but can't mind exact details.
Heads up was Gav and Nigel with Gav going in with a substantial chip lead.
String and myself had a side bet of £1 on the winner and both players went on all out attack but, despite Nigel getting it in 75% favorite with AJ v J9, it was Gav who was left holding the £50 note and I was another £1 lighter.
Gav gets his 1st win of the season and first cash, and with just 3 games left opens up a healthy 12 point lead at the top.
No trip sixes so £21 rolls over.
Final points:
Gav 20
Nigel 18 (15 + 3)
Finchy 10
Nick 5
String 0
